The alumni chapter continues to connect brothers and support Sigma Chi in Ottawa.
As Canada’s capital, Ottawa and the National Capital Region have long attracted Sigma Chi brothers from across Canada and the United States—whether visiting the city or making the region their home.
In September 2007, a group of brothers in the NCR began meeting regularly. Without a local undergraduate chapter at the time, connecting with Sigma Chis spread throughout the region took time. Those early gatherings steadily grew, and in the spring of 2008, the Ottawa Alumni Chapter was officially recognized by Sigma Chi International Fraternity.
Since then, the chapter has brought together brothers from diverse professional and personal backgrounds, including the public and private sectors, the military, sales and marketing, consulting, and non-profit organizations. Despite those different paths, our members share the common bond of Sigma Chi and a commitment to Friendship, Justice and Learning.
The Alumni Chapter also played an important role in the founding and installation of the Lambda Theta Chapter at the University of Ottawa. That relationship has continued to connect generations of Sigma Chis through social events, charitable initiatives, mentorship and support for the undergraduate chapter.
